Chelsey Stackhouse

Associate Wedding Consultant & Wedding Day Coordinator

After dipping my toes in technical writing and market research for CU’s Technology Transfer Office I began working for a social science research firm, developing my strengths in organization, attention to detail, and project management.  I really found what made me tick when I started planning and coordinating events. Throughout my studies at CU Boulder, planning private events for Bacaro Venetian Taverna in Downtown Boulder, and now coordinating with Talia Events, I got a taste of what it really is like to love what you do.  With two seasons of wedding coordination and planning under my belt, I am eager to dive head first into the 2012 season.

I regret not taking more courses in college just for the fun of it.  Statistics, International Marketing, and Accounting may have been necessary for my degree, but some of my favorite courses were Russian Culture, European Politics, and Famous Female Authors.

I love to read. I enjoy everything from mystery novels to historical fictions to a good old classic. Even as a young girl I would carry around an Agatha Christie book, but could never read it in solitary because I couldn’t help but constantly look over my shoulder or jump at every noise.  I could read Pride and Prejudice daily, and often times start on Volume 3 Chapter 1, when Elizabeth first visits Pemberley.

I appreciate a good laugh, and, unfortunately for those close to me, I think nearly everything has a hint of humor.  I can’t help but recount the most recent episode of The Office to my family and friends, even if they have seen it or are not sure they care to.  I love I love Lucy, 30 Rock, The Colbert Report, and anything with Steve Zahn, Will Farrell, or Bill Cosby.

I collect buttons, key chains and tea pots.  As hard as I might try, I can never talk myself out of buying a purse or a funky pair of shoes, especially cowboy boots.  Some of my favorite pieces of jewelry are items passed down to me from my Great Aunts, Great Grandmother, Grandmother, and items that my Mother wore when she was my age.

My day is not complete without a quick scan through Craigslist and Etsy for things I can give new life to, or inspiration for things I can create. I always have a scarf in the making and a ball of yarn on hand.

I am a Colorado native, born and raised in Boulder.  I have a knack for adventure, but I am always the one in the group who needs to have a well-researched and detailed action plan before embarking – who would have thought!
