I fell in love with these small, galvanized metal buckets from Target. They were in the dollar bins just as I walked in the door earlier this month. My mind’s been racing with all the ways to use them!

I can imagine them filled with fragrant herbs on tabletops. Filled with toppings for an ice cream bar. Holding silverware on a buffet table (oh wait, I did that last weekend for a birthday party). As a holder of colored pens, markers and pencils for a guest book. Or, full of fruits and nuts for an unconventional centerpiece.

In fact, I was so excited, I called one of my current clients from the store. They’re having a fiesta reception in mid-August and we had just been talking about potting different flowering plants for their table decorations. I can’t wait to see a series of brightly colored, festive zinnias and dahlias along the table accompanying the colorful tableclothes, tiki torches and citrus-hued lanterns.
